Most illnesses requiring a doctor's attention are treated at the surgery. In accordance with national guidelines, home visits are only made if a doctor feels that the visit is necessary due to the medical condition (for example in the case of terminal illness or major disability).
Illness will not normally prevent travel to the surgery as a passenger in a private car/taxi. If your need for assessment is urgent, you will usually be seen sooner by attending the surgery than by waiting for a home visit.
When requesting a home visit, please try to contact the Health Centre on 01926 492311 before 11.00am and be prepared to give the receptionist some details.
A doctor may telephone you to assess your problem in more detail or to plan the urgency of your visit.
